Arundhati Singh

I am a PhD candidate with a strong biotechnology, biochemistry, and molecular biology background, specialising in fungicide dynamics and resistance selection pressure. My research focuses on understanding the spatial and temporal distribution of fungicides in plants, their role in disease protection, and their impact on the evolution of fungicide resistance in fungal pathogens. I integrate biochemistry, molecular biology, and analytical chemistry techniques to investigate fungicide movement within plants and its interaction with plant-pathogen systems. I use high-resolution mass spectrometry, digital PCR, and in-silico modelling to map fungicide distribution, monitor pathogen population shifts, and assess synergistic interactions between fungicides to enhance their efficacy and longevity. At the core of my research is a commitment to developing sustainable fungicide deployment strategies that optimise disease management, enhance crop protection, and mitigate the risk of fungicide resistance, contributing to more resilient and productive agricultural systems.
