Tracey V Steinrucken

Tracey is a Plant Pathology Research Scientist at CSIRO. Her work involves direct stakeholder engagement with growers, consultants, and Indigenous groups, aiming to co-develop biosecurity strategies and build communities of practice for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in a future with limited chemical use. Her current projects span horticultural, environmental, and forestry systems. She's working with the Butchulla Rangers to protect native forests and ecosystems on K'gari, and with the avocado, macadamia, berry, and custard apple industries in the Northern Rivers (Bundjalung country) for the Pest READI project. Her previous projects involved the pastoral and beef industries on pasture dieback and weed biocontrol, airborne eDNA surveillance on forest pathogens in Switzerland, and Eucalyptus dieback on the Monaro,
