Ahmed Saad
Dr Ahmed Saad is a plant pathologist who specialises in plant-associated bacteria, fungi, and insects. He completed his Ph.D. in crop pathology from University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) in 2020, where he focused on the impact of soil-borne diseases crown and common root rot on winter cereals. After completing his Ph.D., he joined the summer crop group at Centre for Crop Health, UniSQ, where he assessed the pathogen development and virulence of two seed-borne diseases, tan spot and halo blight, on mungbean using molecular diagnostics tools such as quantitative PCR and digital PCR.
He is currently working at DPIRD, South Perth, assessing the impact of soil amelioration and amendments on the incidence and severity of Rhizoctonia solani G8 on cereals.
